Hank Firey - President and Chief Executive Officer
Hank brings over 30 years of accomplishments in the telecommunication and information technology industries. He has held positions of executive leadership responsibility in high technology companies ranging from being a member of the founding team of a company developing remote network management software to managing P&L in Fortune 500 global organizations. Before joining VPIsystems, Hank served as Chief Executive Officer of NexTone Communications. He took this struggling provider of telecommunication software to market leadership in Session Management for voice and video over IP networks. From 1998-2003, he successfully turned two other under-performing companies into sustainable, revenue-generating businesses. Hank also has a successful track record in worldwide sales, marketing, business development and professional services, as well as mergers and acquisitions. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Operations Research from the University of Maryland, with graduate work in Computer Science and Finance.
Tito Sharma - Chief Financial Officer and Executive Vice President, Operations
Tito has 15 years of communications industry experience. Prior to joining VPIsystems, he served as Chief Financial Officer of Lemur Networks, an OSS company in the CATV market. Before joining Lemur Networks, Tito was Chief Financial Officer of Aplion Networks in Edison, NJ, a software and hardware vendor of converged data, voice and video services. He was also a founder and the Director of Business Strategy for Coreon, a start-up in the OSS space for communications carriers. Previously, he held multiple positions in AT&T Corporate Development and Finance in the U.S. and in Asia, where he performed financial planning and analysis, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate development. He holds a Master of Science in Computer Science from SUNY and a Master of Business Administration from Syracuse University.
Russ Green - Senior Vice President, Product Development and Professional Services
Russ has 15 years of enterprise software experience in large-scale, high availability systems, working with globally-distributed development groups and customers. Before joining VPIsystems, Russ was the Vice President of Development for 724 Solutions, based in Switzerland, where he was responsible for engineering, product management and support. Prior to that, he served as Vice President of Development at TANTAU Software, based in Germany and the U.K., and acquired by 724 Solutions, where he also held positions in product management. Previously, he worked as a consulting engineer at Tandem Computers, and was the Technical Director of DEC's European Operating Systems Group in Scotland, U.K. Russ has a BSc. Eng from the University of Cape Town, and an MSc. in Computer Science from the University of Edinburgh. He holds three patents.
Yufei Wang, Ph.D. - Senior Vice President, Technology
Yufei brings 15 years of industry experience to VPIsystems. Previously, Yufei was on expatriate assignment as Director of Network Architecture and System Engineering at Lucent China, overseeing technology marketing and network planning support for the Lucent China market and managing the system engineering organization of the ONG R&D center, also in China. Prior to that, he was a member of the technical staff at Bell Laboratories of Lucent Technologies and AT&T Labs for many years, where he conducted extensive research and prototyping in the following areas (and later provided marketing support to a number of North American and European operators): network planning and optimization, technology/architecture economics and evolutions, distributed and intelligent mesh network routing, restoration and performance (MONET, and later ASON); multi-layer network survivability, wireless backhaul network planning and carrier technology economics, internet IGP and MPLS-based traffic engineering. Yufei holds a Ph.D. in Operations Research from Cornell University, and has authored numerous research papers, conference papers and white papers. He holds three patents.
