VPIsystems Case Studies

The following case studies are available:

Bell Canada - OnePlan System Deployment
This case study examines how Bell Canada, the largest communications service provider in Canada, has improved their network planning and engineering processes for its next generation network to maintain their position as the leading communications service provider in Canada. By integrating VPIsystems OnePlan network planning system into its overall planning and engineering processes, Bell Canada has improved the quality of information flow among organizations, provided enhanced enforcement of business rules, consolidated and automated formerly fragmented processes, and cut the length of the planning and engineering cycles, thereby achieving considerable CapEx and OpEx savings. Telekom Serbia - Decommissioning Outdated Technology with the OnePlan System
Driven by large growth in telecommunications needs, and the requirement to update its network technology, Telekom Serbia implemented OnePlan Ring and Mesh modules to plan Belgrade's Metropolitan SDH network, enhancing its network capacity while decommissioning old SDH rings and reusing the equipment in a modern mesh configuration.

The task was completed in record time - previously, studies such as these required, as the planning department described it, "exhausting calculations of routing and grouping in a particular complex endeavor" In addition, floor space, power consumption, relocation and reinstallation costs were easily calculated by the system, usually requiring a separate study. Additional savings were realized through the extensive reuse of the existing equipment. (Request a PDF copy of this case study)
