Dr. Mark Mortensen Joins VPIsystems as Senior Vice President of Marketing

Industry Icon Brings Unique Vision to Global Network Software Leader

Holmdel, New Jersey (December 7, 2005) - VPIsystems, VPIsystems, the leading provider of network resource planning software and services for the telecommunications industry, has appointed Mark Mortensen, Ph.D. the company's Senior Vice President of Marketing.

A true industry visionary, Dr. Mortensen has been on a 25-year quest at such companies as Bell Labs (telecom software R&D), Granite Systems (inventory provider), Telcordia (a premier OSS provider), and now VPIsystems, to improve the operations of service providers by radically transforming their underlying data infrastructure and processes for planning and operating their next generation networks.

Mark has held numerous positions, including Management Systems Chief Scientist, vice presidential positions of product management, marketing and business development, and a number of technical positions in the software and data communications markets. At VPIsystems, he is responsible for product management, marketing and business development activities.

Mark is well-known in the area of operations, and a frequent author and speaker at industry events. He holds a Bachelor of Science from the Lowell Technological Institute, as well as an M.Phil. and a Ph.D. in Physics from Yale University.
