International Engineering Consortium Names VPIsystems' OnePlan a 2007 InfoVision Award Finalist

Holmdel, New Jersey (September 18, 2007) - VPIsystems, a leading provider of network resource planning software and services for the global telecommunications industry, announced today that its OnePlanTM network resource planning solution has been chosen by the International Engineering Consortium (IEC) as a finalist in the annual InfoVision Awards, to be announced at Broadband World Forum Europe 2007 in October. VPIsystems joins Alcatel-Lucent, Telcordia and Qosmos as finalists in the "Network and Services Management and Operations" category.

OnePlan gives telecommunications and multi-service providers an integrated approach to planning the financial, technical and marketing aspects of their network evolutions, for all current and future network types. It was judged to be "one of the technologies, applications, products, advances and services most unique and beneficial to the telecommunications industry."

Products eligible for the InfoVision Awards were required to be in deployment stage prior to Broadband World Forum Europe 2007. OnePlan is currently in deployment at leading carriers around the globe including BT, Telstra and BellCanada. The IEC received hundreds of entries, which were reviewed by a panel of industry experts according to the following criteria:

  • Value of service or technology in solving recognized technology problems, meeting network requirements, optimizing service and performance, and/or enhancing customer service
  • Overall quality of innovation and contribution to technology advancement
  • Originality and vision
  • Potential contribution towards positive industry growth and service
  • Market success/acceptance (where applicable)
  • Contribution to end-user quality-of-experience and service efficiency

"The IEC's InfoVision Awards recognize top contributions in the information and communications technologies (ICT) industry. We're pleased to recognize VPIsystems as an InfoVision finalist for its OnePlan solution," commented IEC President John Janowiak.

"This honor is a direct reflection of the value network resource planning brings to service providers who are enhancing existing networks or building next-gen networks," said Hank Firey, president and CEO of VPIsystems. "More service providers, systems integrators and equipment vendors are making VPIsystems the provider of choice for building tomorrow's networks, and this acknowledgement from the IEC further validates the importance and uniqueness of our solution."

Broadband World Forum 2007 will take place Oct. 9-11, 2007 in Berlin, Germany. The IEC will announce the InfoVision winners during an awards ceremony on Tuesday, Oct. 9, at 11:30 a.m. CEST.
