For this reason and more, it is imperative for network planners and IP backbone service providers to consider the Quality of Service (QoS) characteristics of different traffic as poor planning can cause performance degradation of real-time as well as traditional data traffic.

- Optimally computes the Label Switched Paths (LSPs) and allocates bandwidth for the MPLS core transport to meet the QoS requirements of different types of services
