Friedrich Bornikoel – Chairman
Friedrich has more than 20 years of experience in venture capital and has been a Managing Partner of TVM Capital since 1997. His investment activities focus primarily on companies in the following sectors: software, industrial applications, design and planning tools, telecommunications and semiconductors. Currently, Friedrich represents TVM Capital on the Board of Directors of alfabet AG (Berlin), Definiens AG (Munich), iTAC Software AG (Dernbach) and VPIsystems (Holmdel, NJ). For many years he served on the board of SCM Microsystems, an early TVM Capital lead investment, and various other portfolio companies. He was a member of the Board of the German venture capital organizaeion BVK from 2003-2007. Prior to joining TVM Capital, he managed a large program of public R&D grants administered by the Federal Minister of Science and Technology (BMFT) in the area of advanced microelectronic components and sensors based on fiberoptics, integrated optics, and semiconductor technologies, as well as related design methods. Before he was a project leader at the Fraunhofer Institute for Applied Solid State Technology in Munich. Friedrich earned his Master in Physics (Diplom Physiker) at the Technical University of Munich.
Daniel Deeney – Vice Chairman
Dan is a Partner with New Venture Partners (NV), an early stage communications and IT focused venture capital firm with $700 million in funds under management. Mr. Deeney has over fifteen years of financial and investment management experience in venture capital, telecommunications and consumer goods industries. NV’s investment strategy is targeted at corporate technology spin-outs from large R&D based companies primarily in North America and Europe. Mr. Deeney is also a director of Airversent, Inc. and Texert, Inc. Mr. Deeney is a Certified Public Accountant and holds a BS in Finance from San Diego State University, an MBA from Pepperdine University and a MS in Management of Technology from the Wharton School/Penn Engineering.
John J. DiBello
John is General Partner, Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer of TVM Capital’s U.S. operations. He joined TVM Capital in 1993 after eight years with Coopers & Lybrand (now PricewaterhouseCoopers) in Boston, where he achieved the rank of Senior Manager, specializing in the areas of high technology and venture capital, with a particular focus on IPOs and M&A transactions. He serves as a board member of the TVM Capital portfolio company, CoreOptics and VPIsystems. In addition, he is a member of the Chief Financial Officer task force of the National Venture Capital Association (NVCA). John holds a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy and a Master of Science in Business Administration from Bentley University, and is a Certified Public Accountant.
Randy Klueger
Randy Klueger is the CFO of Core Capital Partners. Since joining in 2004, he has assisted various Core portfolio companies, including SwapDrive, sentitO, Core Communications, Clareos, and Covega Corporation, in addition to leading the firm’s internal financial operations, limited partner communications, and capital calls. Previously, Randy was President of Klueger & Associates LLC, providing Chief Financial Officer services and counsel to middle market companies. He spent the prior ten years as Chief Financial Officer of Global Material Technologies, Inc., an international friction material company, and four years as President and Chief Financial Officer of Millennium Laser Eye Centers, a Virginia-based chain of refractive eye surgery centers. Randy holds a bachelors degree in Business Administration from The George Washington University.
Roger Price
Roger is a Partner at Innovation Capital, one of Australia’s leading Venture Capital firms. He brings a depth of operational experience including senior engineering, manufacturing, IT services and international business development roles for a number of technology based companies across a range of industries. Prior to joining Innovation Capital in 2006, Roger was the Chief Executive Officer of Reino International, an Australian venture backed start up providing innovative and technically advanced parking solutions to the global market. Whilst at Reino he oversaw the growth of the business from 30 to 300 people, relocated the headquarters to the US and led an aggressive M&A program which resulted in the acquisition and integration of 4 companies in 2 years. Roger has worked for both multinationals and start-up organizations. He commenced his career at Alcatel, has held senior positions with a number of Australian owned technology businesses and run the Aust/NZ businesses of NASDAQ listed software companies. He has held board positions for many of these companies and is currently the Chairman of Windlab Systems Pty Ltd and Audinate Pty Ltd.
Tito Sharma – President and Chief Executive Officer
Tito has 15 years of communications industry experience. Prior to joining VPIsystems, he served as Chief Financial Officer of Lemur Networks, an OSS company in the CATV market. Before joining Lemur Networks, Tito was Chief Financial Officer of Aplion Networks in Edison, NJ, a software and hardware vendor of converged data, voice and video services. He was also a founder and the Director of Business Strategy for Coreon, a start-up in the OSS space for communications carriers. Previously, he held multiple positions in AT&T Corporate Development and Finance in the U.S. and in Asia, where he performed financial planning and analysis, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate development. He holds a Master of Science in Computer Science from SUNY and a Master of Business Administration from Syracuse University.
